GT3RS 4.0 Limited Edition - Official Information Thread!

I don't think you're following what I'm arguing here.
The Porsche brand is diluted. Period. More than a handful of enthusiasts in here, myself included, are holding off future purchases because the limited edition you have on order today may as well be number x out of 2500 variants in 2 months. Or replaced by another model altogether. That is bad business. And unless you are their accountant, I don't even understand your argument. Yes, from a short-sighted business point of view, milking every single cent out of an expiring model seems reasonable. In the same way drinking your entire bottle of Château Latour before dinner is good. But then you'd have nothing, and you have to offer your dinner guests Coke zero along with your steak.
Here's the thing. The only, and I repeat - ONLY interesting car Porsche makes today is the Boxster Spyder. Not only is it the best looking car in their current lineup, or ever, really - but there is no sibling rivalry. There won't be a Boxster Spyder GT2 RS down the line, or a Boxster Spyder Turbo S GT2 RS GTS, so they made it as good as it could be from scratch.
When you're on the waiting list for your next "limited edition" Porsche in a few decades, you will understand what I mean.

I understand what you're trying to say now a little bit better. But I still think the only thing diluting Porsche is their four door cars, but without them there would be no 911.
I also understand what you mean buy, if someone buys a GT3, and then the GT3 RS LE comes out, they might be mad, but the majority of Porsche's buyers can't afford cars so expensive, so Porsche has to make cheaper track cars for the majority of buyers, but in effect, the car won't be as good.

If they bring back Wiedeking they will. He took over a shit business and turned it into a success. And not ten minutes after he was out the door again - BOOM! Idiotic flappy paddles and 185 different 911s.

But, I don't like to concentrate on any of the dilution things, or financial sitting points of Porsche. I just care about the sportscars, which, as far as I'm concerned are the best cars EVER built. I also care about motorsports. No brand has more wins at Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona than Porsche does.

Guys, I think you're all right in what you're saying... Variety and choices is a great thing, but Porsche can hit the brakes on that a bit... They've gone too far... I also think their option list has gone crazy... If they would remove all non-S, it would be a good start... And lots of options should be standard... It's a bit out of control...
Why do I have to pay to get the lower black parts painted
Why dont you get leather centre console why does it come in plastic and leather optional

I am talking about leather interior, the car starts at 130k your well worth 25k on options list alone that is absurd. 25k I can get a decent daily car with that and use the porsche as the weekend car.

How exactly did Wiedeking ruin Porsche in 2010 when he wasn't even part of it? Everything Porsche stand for today, from all these idiotic variants to flappy paddle gearboxes, he was against. Try to put this in a perspective outside of Porsche. What if there were hundreds of different F430s? Three hundred different Vantages? It's not about offering different choices anymore, Porsche has always done that. You bought the 911 SC if you were a yuppie, a 911 Turbo if Goldman Sachs had acquired your company, a 944 if you secured good financing and a 924 if you were an idiot.
The Panameras and Cayennes I don't mind at all. While I think they are all painfully ugly (I like the old Cayenne though), they are brilliant at what they do for their customer base consisting of blind people, and there are only three different variations of each.

Porsche knows they have you buy the balls and they also know a sucker is born every minute.
As long as people like us keep paying up they will keep charging....hit them in the pocketbook where it hurts and you'll see how fast things would change.
