unfortunately this highlights the bottom line regarding center lock wheels for street use....cool, but totally impractical. I've personally removed center lock wheel nuts off an F40/CGT and F50...its a nice workout and a torque multiplier was necessary in 2 out of the 3 case...the other required a 4 foot iron pipe extension (the nut breaking loose was like a gunshot )

Its near impossible to get 400+ft lb torqued wheels off at the roadside without a torque multiplier. This necessitates a flat bad/tow everytime you get a flat. Best advice is to make sure you have AAA/Towing coverage wherever you are.

Just noticed this topic.

The pic Porker posted is of my torque wrench. I always carry it with me in the car (fits perfectly in the trunk once removed from the original casing). Already removed the wheels a couple of times without any issues whatsoever with this tool. I just added 1 extra extension bar so I can remove the wheel without using the torque wrench part which is in the bottom part of the tool. It's from precision instruments and not very expensive. If you are interested I can give you the part numbers.

This is how it looks assembled:

To loosen the wheel I remove the bottom part and replace it with the same part as the middle one.

porsche centre lock wheels

What size socket is needed?

Having read the horror story of a puncture Iam getting a torque multiplier to carry with me!

When I got my RS the Dealer told stright away:
"If you get a puncture and you cannot fix it with the (useless, stupid, F****g) kit, do not even try to change the wheel! Just take the car directly to a OPD..."

That's why I asked to have the spare wheel as optional instead of the "stupid can" but unfortunately in the RS was not available...

You should never loosen anything with a torque wrench.
