New shoes for the RS

I have been a staunch Pirelli P-Zero Corsa believer. Love the tires and an awesome compromise of a track "R" compound tire and a DD tire. Great wet condition performance.

Needed new rubber but the Corsas are priced to the moon. The 325/30/19 was like $675. So decided to go for the Toyo Proxes R888. Running standard sizes 235/35 and 305/30. These tire appear oversized for the stated dimension. The sidewall look is really squared-off giving a better contact patch.

The dry grip is outrageous. Have not experienced the wet yet. These are 100 treadwear "R" compound. I love these mothers.

The price was just a tick greater than half the price for the Corsas. Still love the Corsa's especially over the MPSC but the economy's tough.
Time will tell but right now I love these R888's.

Okay lets make a little sweet noise.

R888 is a pretty stout tire, especially on a GT3. I got some Nitto NT-01s a while back and have been really impressed.

Sounds like great value. My understanding, without experiance, is these turn off quicker when hot than cups and corsa r's. Very popular on lighter cars where the compound is better suited apparently.

That's a pretty treadface you got there

Seriously, they look great and fully agreed the Corsa Systems are crazy expensive and ride hard on the street. I do love them on track.

Please post a review after you get to track these rascals?

be careful with the tires on wet conditions!

we use them a lot for track days here! quite a popular tire for us, but pretty expensive as well.

They are great for fast road driving, as they don't need any real heat to get them working, however, downside is that they go off pretty quickly.

You will also get an annoying 'droning' noise on the freeway above 60+, this is another downside, and can get very tiresome after a long journey.

Great value tyre though, and yes, Corsa R's are getting silly expensive. Has anyone tried these Trofeos yet ??
