Guys, this engine has nothing in common with the Panamera or Cayenne V8 other than they are both V8's. This is a 90 degree flat plane V8. This engine is bred for a race car. It is also 80 lbs lighter than the flat six originally in the car.

theres nothing like a flat-plane V8, Ferrari proved it, BMW used it, now Ruf is going expand on that point!

I would bet it is for coolant and oil similar to the boxster and cayman since there is probably no room for it in the engine bay.
