Need advice on trading Turbo for GT3RS
#11
Wow did I read your first post way wrong! Sorry been a long week. I would trade the TT for the GT3 RS. I love the TT but the GT3 RS is something special you don't see everyday. I read/hear driving the GT3 RS is an amazing experiance, no phone, put the radio on mute, sit back, hear that engine rev, and enjoy the ride.

Guys, I have an opportunity to do a trade of my 09 997TT (white on black) for a 07 GT3RS (Orange) - both have under 1000 miles and even smell new -- better than showroom condition. The dilemma is as follows:
I custom ordered my turbo (fully loaded with ceramics and all personalization) so love it aesthetically, but wish it had a little more noise/soul, etc. I would have ordered a new 08 RS if new ones had been available at the time, so I always have had a soft spot for the orange ones, as the "one that I couldn't have". Now that I have the opportunity to buy one that meets my standards (it is also fully, fully loaded), should I do the trade or wait for the 2010 GT3RS (my dealership is saying they should be able to get me one).
The questions I have are:
1. If I could keep one car for 10 years+, would I be happier if I have the GT3RS 997.1 or Turbo 997.1? What if I tuned the turbo to some ridiculous HP/Trq???
2. Would I miss the amenities of the Turbo (i.e., new PCM, bluetooth, etc) or would I not give a crap?
3. If I trade in the current car for a 2011 RS, how much more would I get in 1.5 years for a 07 GT3RS than a 09 Turbo with GT1 engine??
Note: I'm not concerned about a DD since I have my Cayenne. Thanks in advance.

GT3RS
I currently own both a Turbo (996) and GT3 ('07)...not a direct comparison but close. Let me put it this way...I NEVER drive the Turbo any more. I am original owner of the Turbo, ordered it to my specs. It is a great and fast car....until you drive the GT3. If I could sell the Turbo for anything close to a reasonable amount it would be gone tomorrow, and I would never look back. If the GT3 was gone, I would immediately find an identical replacement.

I echo Bill's thoughts precisely. I have an RS. Best car i've ever owned, never ceases to put a smile on my face. and at their current pricing, 20 to 30 BELOW sticker, no brainer.

It's the kind of car that you didn't need music or what not because it demands your attention.

And even more fun once you have some autox and track time down with TC off.
PSM is never off and can never be fully turned off, one big reason why I traded in the Turbo despite losing my shirt on the trade.
