Test drove the 2014 S550
I test drove this today and it is an awesome car, miles apart from the S class of 2009 through 2012.
Responsive, smooth, and agile are words that come to mind. The dash is a nice design that is easy on the eyes.
All the speedos and telemetrics are software designed, not real needles like on the e class. Which is a bit of a change. But nonetheless easy to drive. Also no HUD.
The perfumed air is a nice touch and so are the 9 different colors of interior mood lights. The GL has three. My e has one.
I also felt the front seats were not as wide as the older models and the seats were much more snug. I wasn't falling about as i took some sharp turns.
After typing all this, I feel the best seats are the back ones. If i bought an S, i would ensure I had a chauffeur
One thing i did note was that the tires are run flats now, so no spare. However this did not impact the ride.
