Need Advice: purchasing 2013 SL 550

Hi, if anyone can help, my dear friend is planning on buying an SL from the US to take advantage of the lower price. I was wondering would he face any trouble with the Navigation system or anything else connected to it being a US spec car in Bahrain. Thanks in advance

Don't know what your laws and regulations are, but all that aside, simply get the Bahrain specific Nav disc and you should be fine.

Good luck!

Might be wrong, but pretty sure that the new NAV is a hard drive model like most other car makers, no more disc.
A lot of dealers in the US are restricted to not sell a car if there is any chance that it may be exported out of the country. Recently some dealers will not even sell to you if you do not live in the same city. A Land Rover dealer in LA told me they could not sell me a new car since I lived in San Diego.

Thank you both for your reply, i have found a couple of dealers willing to sell and there are no laws here that stand in the way of purchasing the car. My main worry is since the sat nav is stored on a hard drive can i download Bahrain maps instead of the US maps? Thanks again
