That little control unit thing has a send button. Maybe it's a fax machine . . .

Did you know the hood latches on most Mercedes can be unclipped, so the hood can be raised to 90 degrees where there's a secondary lock?

I am personally much more into cars from my younger days than any new car on the market.

Your SC is also one of my faves.

Yes, yes, remember my first test drive. Local dealer dropped his first S600 of at my mkoms house to test for a day. I got in and checked everything out, adjusted the seat, steering column, side mirrors and was reaching for the windshield mounted rear view mirror. Ripped it clean off as it also had an electric motor to adjust which I did not know ... Mom was and is a Jaguar lady, didn't like the Benz which was a huge behemmoth at that time, and sent it back with a thanks but no ... and the rear view mirror laying on the passenger seat ...

Didn't those s600s have electronically operated inside rear view mirror? The s class since then has definitely gone backwards from cutting edge to cost effective.

Edit: just saw your commenT about the mirror, that is the problem when you open a dozen tabs at once!

Yes even the SL R129 series as well, our 93 had that as well.

I really want a R129 as my next DD, a lady at my work is thinking about selling her SL600 this spring... The 90's Benz were built like tanks and had all kinds of fun gadgets.

Thanks, the one in my avatar is not mine, but it's getting there. Same color (wine red), IS350 wheels, 1JZ-GTE, currently in the shop getting a R154 5-speed transmission. Correct Soarer drivetrain.

Give it the AMG sports kit, Deep dish AMG 18" it will look superb. The one I have is a 300SL-24V Gulf Spec/ Middle east. Nov 1992 Build.

Already have the 18" Monoblock II's on my c-class with an extra set of CLK wheels in the garage, but they could be refinished. I really like the original 3-piece riveted Monoblock I's but they're rare and $$$.

The SL600 my co-worker is selling is a 2000 so one the last of the R129 body style. With matching hard top as well.
