Spied Again: The New BMW 4-Series Convertible

BMW's F33 Convertible Prototype - Bigger in every way

Our trusty Teamspeed spy photographers were able to grab a few new images this morning of the upcoming BMW 4-Series convertible, top down, and enjoying the lovely spring weather. As you can clearly see from the images the new convertible is bigger in every way from the current generation on the market now.

Still wearing a bit of camouflage, these latest images show that the upcoming 4-Series Convertible will feature a slightly revised front end fascia from the newly-released 3-Series sedan. As we have previously reported under the hood, the 4-Series will get a range of four- and six-cylinder engines just as the 3-Series Sedan models, with most powerful option to be the 3.0 liter version that pumps out over 300 HP.

We expect the new BMW 4-Series to be revealed in 2013, with sales to begin in early 2014. You can expect to see M versions for both the 4-Series Coupe and Convertible shortly after the debut of the standard version.

Stay tuned for more as always!

Random thought: I wonder if BMW realizes that in naming it the 4-series they will be alienating a lot of Asian customers.

I'm reminded of this aspect of Asian culture by living in the SF Bay Area; for instance, I was at SFO today and the parking garage was fairly packed -- except the 4th floor, which had over 110 open spaces (all other floors had less than 10 each).
