BMW Reveals The All-New 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe
#61
Beautiful lines. I actually like this Grand Touring more than the current coupe. And with that I need to update my checklist:
- You watch the Suze Orman Show prior to going out on a Saturday night. = CHECK
- You made your first donation to NPR. = CHECK
- Dennis Miller and Louis Black crack you up. = CHECK
- You'd buy the 2013 6-GT before the coupe. = CHECK
Yep, getting old already. D/mn.

There has been an exorbitant amount of n00bs with mental instability arriving at our door here at TS...Hmmmmmm
I wonder if our 'what are you eating?' thread is putting off too much delicious aroma?

Which is probably the explanation. They're attracted by all the bonkers oldfags.

Really, you guys don't see the point? This is an exciting segment amongst premium brands like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, and Jaguar. The 6er GC is aimed at a more discerning customer. He/she who loves the sportiness of the 6 Series Coupe (2 door), but requires more room - possibly for business colleagues and or a family. This buyer can easily afford the 7 Series, but doesn't require the almost limousine size that is used to transport high profile political dignitaries, corporate executives, and A list celebs. This customer is probably one who favors bespoke tailored suits over off the shelf or a made to measure Zegna. One who wants to stand out a bit in the crowd and not blend in with a 5 Series (nothing against the 5er as it is a beautifully designed sedan).
BMW did a great job and it will sell. It is elegant and sporty with exceptional driving dynamics. I can picture many of these on the road in places like the NY Tri State and Chicagoland areas - especially with xDrive. Global demand for high end consumer products is up so why not capitalize on it from a business standpoint.

I only can imagine what the official M edition will look and perform. Plus, add the aftermarket companies getting involved (visual, engine tuning, and etc.)
All in all, this thing is going to be problem on the streets!!!

While it'll cut into some sales of the 7; it won't hurt it much. The 7 is still the largest sedan and many people buy it b/c its at the 'top of the food chain' with BMW.
I predict production levels will be low and if it does hurt anything- it'll make the 6 series coupe almost null-and-void. Which is great for those who will be looking for stupid deals when 6 series coupes are sitting around with 'lot rot'. LOL
Oh and it will be a competitor for the Panamera. Striaght up- thats who this car is aimed directly at. Porsche has raked in the $$ with the Panny and BMW wants some of that market back.
