Minis are fantastic
Their high entry price proves you will not lose too much.
Mine was an 08 so I can't comment on this year but I think they are awesome little cars.

I have a few friends with them, they rarely have any problems and they say the cars are seriously fun. That said, I hated the shifter feel and seating position enough that I could not drive one.

FYI

My father (from new) bought a 2006 Cooper S- at 28k on the clocks, the clutch is slipping. It's out of warranty, and MINI USA won't good faith it-

EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE A BULLETIN FOR THIS VERY ISSUE.

So if he does buy one, be aware the clutch can fail, very quickly.

Porsche has engine failures, IMS and RMS issues and will do a 'good faith' replacement. For Mini to not take care of this is unacceptable.

Exactly I owned a 2007 S and a 2010 JCW and did well at sale time on both.

dude, keeping a car for 1 week and 300 miles DOESNT count as knowing the reliability of a car!
