You can get them for around the 100k mark, however the cleaner low mileage ones can go higher..

Isn't it an ///M engine? I've always considered it an M-car although technically its not

Yes, the drivetrain is the same as the e39 M5. I'm sure they share many other parts as well.

One of the best looking cars in a long time.

Too bad it weighs so much.

Mark,

There are at least two local owners who are active in the BMW club. I would be happy to put you in touch with one. They are both enthusiast who own a number of nice cars and can likely give you the info you need.

The M62 motor is very strong. There are a few items to be aware of when buying used. I have a great guy for a local PPI if you find a local one for sale.

I've always been a fan of the design and the drivetrain is stout but I've never really heard any glowing reviews about how the car drives.

Never owned one; but have driven them numerous times for extended periods of time including the Alpina version.

Def. a head turner everywhere you go! IMO one of the best looking cars ever. I also really like the layout of the interior, and the way it sounds. I found it incredibly easy to shift as well.

Overall a fantastic car; def. one i'd LOVE to own someday!

One slight problem for you perhaps; i've never seen one in white.

Values have held very well., my friend Joe has had one since new and zero issues. Engine pulls nicely and it is always a head tuner. I think Hernando,s father or unlce owns or has owned one, ping him.
