Please forgive my ignorance, why does all of that matter? If the car HP gaines are similar, is their a benefit to a flash over a computer modify?

For me it comes down to risk, i like the flash because if I run into any problems I can simply reflash, take it to the dealer and not have a problem.

back in 2000 when I had my a4 the only way to flash was to solder a chip and it was a pain in the @ss to have it put back to stock, my car was down and when I wanted to change tunes i was not able to due some type of lock from APR solder chip.

With the flash it takes 30 minutes?? to change tunes and not worry about taking apart my computer.

just my 02 cents.

cheers.

If thats the case you prob dont want a Tune... If you want to revert back to stock easily your best bet is a JB3, or Procede. True you can switch back to stock with a tune easily, BUT you have to have it done at the shop, and it takes approx an hour or so - so if you breakdown, etc. you will have to have your car towed back to DC have them re-flash the stock program, and then have it towed to the BMW dealer, than after its fixed bring back to DC and have them re-flash again... with the JB3, you just need a 8mm socket, and a flat headed screwdriver, and 20 mins later your back to stock.
