I think there are a couple reasons for the depreciation on these cars:

These highline cars are all in the crapper right now value wise.

There is a new bodystyle on the horizon so this will now be a previous generation car.

The 7series is a really oversaturated car in the marketplace. Its not a car that 'gets noticed' anymore, its just soooo common now. Still a great car, just not that eye popping' mega lux car it used to be.

I used to drive a 745LI

Here's a few pics of it

(sold this car in early 07, if I owned it today these centers would be brushed aluminum! lol)
