Question What Should I Do?

So I don't post here as much as I'd like to anymore, graduating and getting a job will do that I suppose, but, like my buddy Lebron James, I've got a big decision to make: For the longest time I wanted an E92 M3, but then I moved on to a 997 GT3 as my object of desire. Until recently. I happened to see a few very tasteful 993s atPetit Le Mans, including a well-known (and well-executed) speed yellow RS clone. Right here, right now I really want a 993 (base C2).

What I'm really looking for is a car that feels special in all situations and has the potential/likelihood to be a classic in the future. I have a very short commute (~2.5 miles round trip), which worries me about daily driving a 993. I'm open to other cars, too (E46 M3, RS4, Elise, etc.). A few caveats: This would be my only car, although I'm single and 22 so practicality and ride comfort are not really important to me; manual only; fairly reliable; won't depreciate excessively.

I know I've rambled and written this poorly, but I hope the good responses will flow my way despite this. Thanks.

the E92 M3 is a great DD,does not require a lot of maintenance and at 22,it actually should feel special at anytime anyway

get it!

the last NA V8 in an //M car!
And it`s the M3 - small car,big engine=win

Your "buddy Lebron James"? Way to name drop with absolutely no relevance to the topic!

Anyway......993 C2 is the only one on that list that already is a classic. Most of the others probably will never make it there.

I like the car, but I think it's too big and heavy to be a true sports car. On the plus side, I think values will probably fall once we see the F30 on the road (not to mention the F3X M3).

Check the thread title for the Lebron reference

I think the E92 M3 might become a classic if the NA V8 is remembered fondly; I think the 997 GT3 will be a classic given the provenance of the engine and the overall driving experience. However, values appear to have firmed up and I would probably be stretching myself a bit to pick one up right now, and I'm impatient.

E92 classic? Not anyday of the week. The E46 is more of a classic and that car started another cultural/enthusiast revolution.

E92? not so much.
