VW Golf R20 build thread: 755HP & 701Nm

Thanks Stefan
Sydney is usually quite hot but you wouldn't know it from the current weather... summer and 21C!
I will get all the parts then, I want to go straight to 2+ with an eye on stage 4. I assume the DSG remap allows the full benefit of 2+ to be appreciated - did you have it for this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AKBvkX37mI? (btw great vids, subscribed now!)
Are any brand-specific parts required? I remember one of the tunes required a VF intake so am wondering if Revo is the same. I want to avoid parts that are only good for 2+ and not for 4...

Congratulations for your decision to go straight to Stage 2+. Revo works with evey part manufacturer, but i'll make a list for you with parts that you can use also on Stage 4.
- ITG Maxogen Intake (i have it on my Stage 4, and Revo became ITG dealers worldwide, so your Revo dealer can provide this part)
- THS Intercooler (UK made, but it's better than APR, it's bigger. Also they made a special version for Revo. So again your Revo dealer can provide it)
- APR HPFP (until now, it's the best HPFP on the market)
For exhaust i had Milltek on Stage 2+, but the catback was 2.75" diameter, and on Stage 4+ you need a full 3" turboback exhaust. So i recommend Forge Motorsport exhaust. They've just released it. I've ordered one for my car. It's pure 3" and you can use it on Stage 4 (if you don't have a Forge dealer in Australia, i can give you the email to their Sales Manager).
PS: do you have Revo dealer in Sydney? If not i recommend you Revo dealer in Melbourne. Raymond (Melbourne Revo) is a top guy, and he will help you. Rudy-R (member on australian forum) had also made his car there.
PS2: in movie i was Stage 2+ but with Stock DSG. The gears were changed at 6500rpm
. 7500rpm is a must, even at Stage 2+. It makes such a difference.

This list is a huge help! ITG intake and THS intercooler are easy choices.
Just found your post on the golfmk6 scorpion thread!
Hopefully they ship to Australia.
HPFP - the APR one is 3 times the price of the Autotech one - $1500 vs $500! Is there any chance the Autotech one will be sufficient for stage 4?
There are apparently 3 Revo dealers in Sydney, so I should be well covered
I'm wondering if the DSG tune should be done first, surely with increased RPM limit and removed torque limit, the tuning approach would be different?

I've heard several people that had problems with Autotech hpfp. Theretically they should be Ok.
I think Forge will ship to US, Mike is a great guy
You can make the DSG remap whenever you want. The Revo approach it's the same.
At Stage 1 the rev limit will be established by Revo at 7200rpm, but then at Stage 2+ It will be increased at 7500rpm.
So you could try making the DSG remap first

Hi TEFF, I just ordered a Golf R and would be taking delivery of it later this month! Just a question, I was wondering, if I'm going stage 2+, is the HPFP a must upgrade? Even if the car is brand new? I got the rest of the Stage 2+ parts on order, just pondering on the HPFP. Thanks for the greatly informative build thread!
