New DD advice needed. M3 sedan vs. MB C63

Thinking about a new daily. Needs to be a sedan as I drive two of my kids to school each morning, but want a car that is fun to drive.

Prices on used M3 sedans and C63's are pretty close.

I drive about 18K miles per year, so I've always had jap cars as my dd. Want to switch to a german car. BMW includes full maintenance which is nice.

What would you guys go with?

Here are two examples:

2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C63 AMG, $49,895 - Cars.com

2008 BMW M3 Base, $49,900 - Cars.com

I would go for the MB C63 AMG, I've nothing against the BMW M3, but the noise (or music) that comes out of the C63 is amazing.
It's also 1 year younger and it has almost the same engine as the SLS AMG, that can't be bad either.

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
Umm, the M3 IMO. It is blazing fast, has the full BMX service packages available, etc. But I am also just biased toward M3's as they are one of my favorite cars of all time. Good luck man.

That's a tough call, although I'd have to go with the C63 since I read this as part of the M3 ad.

Equipped with an advanced 4.0 liter V8 this automobile has 414 horsepower...more than 100 per cylinder.

Those two ads I linked to are just examples of cars that are available. One car being one year newer or not doesn't really phase me.

I'm more interested in the discussion between the two cars in the general sense.

I've yet to drive the C63, so looking for opinions from those familiar with it.

I'd prolly be happy either way.

The M3 is ultimately the better car, but as a daily driver, the 2 are very similar. You arn't out to set lap times so i'd go with the 63 purely for the noise.

manual M3 sedan would be fun but the C63 has that motor.

C63 try to find one with the Performance Package, much better buy because it has the forged pistons(SLS) and is around 500hp.

I drive though heavy traffic pretty regularly, so I'd go with the DCT in the M3.

if it must be auto i would say C63 all the way. the M3's V8 has no torque so if you don't have the manual its boring & performance is tepid.
