Troopers pull over 223 drivers for hogging passing lane

A step in the right direction. Imagine a day when everyone obeys the passing lane laws like they do on the Autobahn. Less congestion, less angry drivers.
Troopers pull over 223 passing lane 'campers' in King County | KING5.com Seattle
SEATTLE – Washington state troopers in King County pulled over 223 drivers last month who camped out in the freeway passing lane, breaking a law that not many drivers know about. Of those, 199 were let off with warnings.
...
One of the concerns for enforcing the law is aggressive drivers who get frustrated at the slower traffic in front of them and, as a result, dart from lane to lane to get by other cars.

Yup, we need to get out of the way for those speed demons. The faster they go the less time they have to react and stop in an emergency. This gives them a much greater kill factor. Just let them go and put everyone else at risk, maybe they'll find one of your loved ones while cruising over 70 down the freeway. Let's put some speed cameras on the freeways. Portable ones so they will never know where to expect them. And increase the speeding fines to $250 for 10 over. And start stopping drivers at 5 MPH over the posted speed. This will make an impact on the speed demons and reduce the risks to troopers and the public from stopping drivers on the freeway shoulders. We won't need the passing lane in most cases if there were no more speeders. How about treating speed demons like DUIs and make them install speed governors on their cars after two speeding tickets limiting their maximum speed to 60 MPH.. After all they are just as dangerous as a DUI..

Honestly, if I was a cop that is all I would do. I hate the fact that a lot of cops target sports cars, etc. In case of emergency, who's gonna stop or evade disaster better, me in the M3 or some mom in her minivan on the way to soccer practice win a yorkie on her lap and eating a bowl of cereal?
