BTW, what exactly would you use this truck for? Any towing? Would you use it to haul things around in? Bikes? ATV? bodies? Whats your Daily commute like?

Here's my Tacoma.

^ Didn't know much about that truck prior to this thread. Just did some reading, and I'm impressed. Reasonable price, and (standard) features that are great for those who really use such a vehicle.

The problem with the SVT, is its big, and way to heavy. And the few people i know that have one, will never ever take it off road. If you aren't going off road, don't buy it.

It's still a BA looking truck though.

I'm having a serious dilemma right now with my truck. 2005 Silverado 1500 crew cab, 160k miles, some body damage, etc. Needs tires, likely needs new shocks, new plugs/wires, ad nauseum. Do I keep maintaining this one in hopes of seeing 200k+ miles or go ahead and get something new?

All that extra power......and still no go. I think a ranger with a 4.0L is faster than that tank.

I would say, figure what it would cost to fix what is NEEDED to keep it going. Than figure the cost of re sale value and or trade in. Than figure the cost of what you would buy to replace it. And whatever makes the most sense, oo it.

On another note, re-sale value on a Tacoma, is amazing. They hold their value very very well. Even with high mileage.
