Defender or FJ ( 70's ) ?

The defender is about 35k NZD, the FJ is like 12k NZD.... And I could put money into the FJ?

Someone on here as a old school FJ?
I'm pretty sure Bronto picked one up recently.

I went to take a look at one a couple of months ago when i first got home.

The salesman told me i would sell it within 2 months if i bought one - he stated that the clutch is very heavy and the thing is a major PITA to drive around town.

He then tried to sell me a RRS...though i think he's probably right about the defender - i've driven one off road and it's definitely not an easy car to live with.

Drive one and you'll hate it.

Highly uncomfortable, a great weekend offroader but not a DD.

Well the one in the first picture I know very well It is in storage all summer though as my bad back can't drive it for more then 15 minutes without being in on fire.

Perfect.

You forgot to add crude and bouncy with completely ineffective climate control (heat or A/C), and anything of value left in the vehicle will be "easy pickings" for the most amateur of thiefs, even with the doors locked.

Had one as a replacement car when our Range Rover was in for repairs (like 40 times)
Until now, this has been the only car that I've ever gotten car sick in.

That's not good.

I just got one. Love the thing but unfortunately it's been a bit of a garage queen lately. Don't have time to drive it.

If you're going for an FJ get one which is well kept (preferably renovated) and with updated springs and brakes. Comfort's nasty in the original version unless you upgrade. Almost as bad as in a Defender BTW, just PM:ed you...
