Tell me about car wraps

My ADD was kicking in again and oh look a bunny!

Wait, what? Oh, I was thinking about getting a wrap for my car in another color since I've already tired of the black. How much should I be paying for this kind of thing? How long do they last, realistically? What about removal, is it a pain, and does it leave any lingering evidence on the car?

I got one quote for $2400, but that's it so far. No idea if that's realistic or not.

Anyone tried this?

Going rate seems to be between 2500-5000 depending on the car.
