Wireless Routers
#11
I have no idea which model router you have, so I cannot comment on your specific situation, but every free router I have seen has been shit, and I have seen a LOT of them. Much lower bandwidth, less security, less configuration options, less frequent updates, etc. Basically, you get what you pay for.

anyone know of an inexpesive router that has 2 USB ports? I've never succesfully been able to get my printer to print through an ethernet cable. So i'd like two, one for an External HD and one for the printer.

here is what we are looking at now ASUS Black Diamond Dual Band Wireless-N 600 Router (RT-N56U)
Only problem is the USB ports are compatible for macs, not for printing, storage etc. I'm not really sure how often we'd try to print from our ipads, but i would like the ability.
Here is what we have to connect:
2 laptops
2 Ipads and 2 Iphones
2 Apple TV's
1 PS3

I just recently went through the same upgrade at home - comcast cable and bought this unit over the rental one they offer. This thing rocks!

Recently upgraded from an old d-link to the cisco e-4200, and it's awesome range is a good 20% better, and slightly better speeds.
I bought the apple airport extreme, but in my case I didn't really like it, speeds were about identical to the d-link and the range was actually a bit worse, but my needs may be different.

Just powered this one up a couple days ago, so far so good. Netgear N600. Definite improvement in range over the Linksys E3000 I was using.
