I've got the Klipsch ear buds , and I would recommend them. S4i are ~$70 on Amazon and sound great and really do block 95-99% ambient noise when used properly and you play music.

Supposedly it dampens the effects when you have a thicker cord, but in ear cans have microphonics. My understanding is the noise of the cord rubbing against your shift when you walk or run gets amplified by the seal.

I've got eat buds, and use them often. The noise canceling is for planes and on ship, both with the constant drone. The only luck I've had, and been completely satisfied with, are noise canceling headphones. I'll probably get a pair of senn's before I start jumping around the states come December.

Yeah, when moving around the klipsch can boom, but for lounging they're great!

Ear buds with foam tips completely block out airplane drone for me.

Has anyone tried the new Bowers and Wilkins P5?
I saw them at the Apple store here in Van last week and I am a BIG fan of B and W. Love that they've entered the portable audio market too. I'm just looking at replacing my Grado's that I've had for the past 4 or 5 years.

Aren't these sexy though?

I personally always recommend going that route for travel. I seem to block out the most noise with in-ears.

The P5's are a great headphone. We just picked up B&W so I have been playing around with the P5 and the new C5 earphones along with some amazing 800D's.
