Maybe for some people but I am using a MBP now and really don't like it as a laptop..fine with external keyboard, mouse and monitor...but it's too big, the keyboard quality is weak and it gets cold and hot..not to mention it's hard to grip and casually carry around..slippery...the enter key broke off and I got to see how the keyboard is constructed..really weak imo..
I only bought it over the MacBook as I wanted to use it with a 30" monitor..THE MBP is a very good computer but not my kind of laptop...15" is too big for my needs...wish they had a 13"..

I switched 6 months ago to a macbook and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Macbook Pro is better but it depends upon your needs. I use it to travel so the macbook is sufficient but if your replacing a desktop I would go MBP. If you do go with the macbook be sure to get the 4gb of ram. Good luck!

Completely agree. I think it's obvious to those who should buy the Air and those who shouldn't. However, the MB and MB Pro debate isn't as easy. Go into the store, play with both for a little bit, and see if you can justify the extra dough for the Pro's features. If you're doing any type of moderate to serious multimedia work, buy the Pro, no questions.

I'm very close to getting an Air. My work laptop is XP, and I hate MS so badly now, I'm just dying to get out of it.
Our corp IT won't support mac, but I can do it on my own. All I really need for work is Outlook and Office Apps. I just won't tell them what I'm using and never ask them for help when I have issues... I can figure it out myself.
Love MAC. I've had the iMac a week, and I'm 100% converted.

I bought the air when it first came out, I was tired carrying my 17" MBP around. It is amazing, once you use it it will make even the macbook look too big but it is only good if you have another laptop or desktop to do more heavy work if needed.
I have yet to need a superdrive for my air since everything is downloadable these days so the air is great for the web, mail and a little office.
