Alright guys, I want the truth. I think we all know I'm a forza fan (I love Porsche *duh again) I am hearing different things about GT5. I hear "it's just like GT4", "it's long and boring", but then I hear nothing but good things. I want to hear what you guys truthly think, and if you can compare it for Forza. I know GLN wasn't a fan.

Never played Forza but GT5 is better in every way.

Jon I'm not far enough into GT5 yet to really say if it is that similar to GT4 there are apparent similarities but ultimately I think the development in the graphics and the platform are what really truly sets it apart from GT4. The content doesn't seem too different so far.

I think Forza may be a better gamer's game than GT5. But GT5 is a better simulator for sure, no doubt about it. Just go drive a fast car at the Nurburgring in Forza and then try it out in GT5 and you will see the difference.

GT5 is a revolting POS.

Gah I can't wait to get home to play GT5 until 2am again.

That's exactly how I feel. I hate it ... but I can't help but want to play. Disregard social life, acquire trophies.

edit - and actually, it would appear Polyphony has been trolling us by sandbagging their own game. You first open it and wonder why so few races ... then they tell you "oh btw, level 25 unlocks this, level 30 unlocks that, and the update will add this and that". Curse them.

Jon, you are doing yourself an injustice. I picked it up the morning it came out and have played it a few hours a night since. There is no way any person can give a review on the game from only a couple hours. This game unfolds it's layers throughout the necessary gameplay. I am at level 15 right now and it is very exciting.

Cool parts? I built an '07 GTR, fully modded it from 0 miles with everything I could throw at it, max hp was 790. Last night the max HP of the car was 848... There definitely seems to be a "break in" for the engines... May not be exciting to everyone but then again I'm just a tuner geek...

Took it out to the Nordschliefe last night and a 40% effort yielded me a 7.20 with it. The track is absolutely scary, PD has done a great job at inducing the feel of speed and fear, especially through the force feedback in my DFGT, I often find myself holding my breath through corners etc..

Hell I went out and bought a 50" 1080 plasma just for this game...

Has anybody beaten the "Like the Wind" event on Extreme? I figured out a way to beat it with a Veyron on the track version (not the circle track). You can get 70k credits and 6k of experience from it.

My set up is: fully tuned Veyron, racing soft tires, and ride height lowered to -25. Make sure not to lock up your breaks when breaking because I was having trouble beating the event before without knowing how much it slowed me down. It's also too bad you can't have negative camber on the Veyron because it might be even quicker around the corners.

if a Veyron doesn't do it, I'll get a Nissan R92 or something. Heck, if 470kph isn't enough ...

+1. Forza's Nurburgring doesn't even come close.
