If it's for resold or GameFly, I could see why they'd do it. If they bone people who purchase the game new, that's bad juju. I got nervous because the rumor has been the next COD would do precisely that (thank you, dickhead Bobby Kotick).

I've been playing the demo, and have to say, it rocks.
I don't get the outrage frankly. Nothing worse than what Hollywoods done to disparage our guys.
So what if it is "Taliban", whatever. They're the enemy of the moment. And some heavy Tier 1 type individuals consulted to make the game, they're not pissed; in fact they're proud. So I'm not feeling the outrage.
It was the Nazi's, Russians, etc in video games before. What the big deal here?
The game is a blast, no pun intended. Great for a competitive release when you're tied to a chair.

Did anyone play the Open Beta ? It was available on Steam from October 4th to 7th. You were able to play two different maps: Shahikot Mountains and Kunar Base (Multiplayer only ofc)

Yep! I've been playing the demo since it fired up, and love it. The game is a LOT of fun when you have some guys that have a clue how to shoot, move and communicate.
The sound effects... wow. Crank the speakers, the sound only gets more real if your in it for real!
All people have to do is take the game for the fun, and competition that it is!

Yeah I just sent SoCal a PM about it... I'm still getting it. I've been waiting for too long to not shoot Taliban guys, even if it's glitchy. Thank God for DLC and online patches. I'll let you know in about 4-5 hours how I like it.
