XBOX360 Elite or new PS3...

I am looking to get one of these for my son for Christmas. Which one is the better console, entertainment value, ease of use and best games.

Thanks...

I've got the PS3 at my house, but it was an easy choice because it plays all the previous ps2 games I already had. I like the PS3, but for online games the 360 is definitely the better console. The built-in bluray on the ps3 also. If you're son is older than 10 I say xbox just because he can get Halo to play with his buddies. Either way you can't go wrong though since there aren't too many games that are exclusive just to one console.

360 all day. Better games, less of a load time, and you can stream movies onto it. What kid needs a Blu-Ray player anyway?

I would vote for 360 too. Not sure how old your son is, but if he likes playing games online with his friends, then the 360 has a very good online interface.

I have both and buy my games almost exclusively for the 360. The PS3 is probably more powerful but the interface and online play on the 360 is far superior.

That being said, you want to get the console all his friends are on so he can play against them online.

PS3 for the blu-ray. I'm a simple man, all I need is Rainbow Six and Gran Turismo.

I do wish I had Forza 3 right about now though...

I have large hand and the 360 controller is actually more comfortable.

I wouldn't say the 360 has better games, the PS3 has just as many exclusive titles that are great, and most of the bigger titles are available on both consoles. That said, the 360 is probably better for someone younger; the PS3 seems more mature for some reason.

For online play no question 360. For flexibility PS3. Having to choose one, I have a 360 since I download my HD content and have a bunch of friends on Live.
