PS3 here. Blur-ray + next flix streaming is great. Games are subjective, I like PS3 games so it's a winner for me.

I agree with this, 100%. The PS3 is very powerful if you're an advanced user, but the 360 you can just jump into and play games like halo and forza. My nephews all have 360's, but all of my friends my age group have PS3's (and maybe a 360).

For a pure gaming console I recommened the 360. As far as entertainment console it is the PS3 hands down. I am streaming everything through a Windows media computer to my PS3, not my 360. All my downloaded movies are on my PS3.

PS3. Bult in blu-ray, Wifi built in, free online gaming and it is a simple package. I also have the 360 but everything that is free with the PS3, the 360 makes you pay for.

I prefer the 360, I have one myself. However, I must honestly point out that it has its share of problems. Still, I heard the new versions eliminated that!

I love my 360, execpt that I am currently fixing mine since the disc drive went out. I would consider a PS3 personally since they seem to have less tech. issues, but I have spent too much on my 360. I don't know how the elite is but I have seen the pro have several tech issues. A friend of mine has had the 3 red rings of death twice on 2 different systems. Other than that I absolutely love my 360.

Sorry, my son is 9. I guess I should have mentioned that. Seems like the 360 would be more appropriate for his age. Am I correct based on the feedback?

Get the one his friends are on, it's all about the online gameplay.

But yes, the 360 has an arguably simpler interface.

Yeah, I agree with Sean. If his friends have systems and they are all online, he will definately want to be able to play with them. Online gaming is really where it's at now.

I honestly dont think you can go wrong with either, it's really just personal preference and again which one his friends might have.
