I was going to buy a Alienware gaming notebook about a year ago then realized it was nothing more than a re-badged Asus chassis I could buy and custom configure on a site like mwave.com for a 1300.00 discount for the exact same rig! Now some of their stuff is admittedly "one off" for the company but its pretty hard to not be able to find a comparable chassis for much much less.

That kind of stuff pisses me off. I've purchased all of my other notebooks directly from Asus retailers and saved a chunk of change in the process.

I did not know that those things were built off of Asus chassis...
I'm surprised that they've not been built off of Dells.

I'd be more apt to go after an Asus anyways.

I'm going to check out that mwave. I also found a good machine from a company called Sager.

Not all of them are Asus chassis's specifically... but 99% of them are Asus, MSI, etc. that are rebranded.

I have been out of the computer gaming scene for quite some time (i'm a mac guy now), but from what I hear Falcon Northwest is the real deal.
