Maybe I'll warm up to it (it happened with the Huayra, so who knows).
FWIW, I liked the 458 from the moment I saw it.

Shift Speed
I took the exterior sound clip from youtube and downloaded it as an mp3, then threw it into Audacity and slowed it down to x0.01 speed to try to determine how fast LaFerrari shifts. although probably not the best method, I got approximately 49ms shift speed, which would make it as fast as a modern F1 car.
I showed my work too
What do you think?

I'm surprised that LaFerrari is creating such divided opinions - it looks to me like it would tick every box required for a car of this type. Also surprised to hear it being compared unfavorably to the Mclaren.
Particularly in side profile, the Ferrari's design just anihilates the Mclaren, which to me looks really very drab, unfocused and generic.

You know why there is so much hate..
Cause people are butt hurt,, they were expecting a very ugly car..that would not be on par with the Mclaren in performance.
They got served.. and now the butt hurt flows through them..

I think there are another set of wheels available... But look even worse. The back shoulders of the car are to bulgy. The wheels look tiny.... look like those old 90's concepts. The P1 spits hardcore in every body mm.
But the La Ferrari is the new king. And Ron's words on the P1 presentation.... I think we was very nervous and jumped to early. But anyway, 10s off top gear record is what these new gen off hypercars will show us. Sub 7m on the ring its not a surprise. It would be if it would not be like that. I think that the LaFerrari will do better.
Is Ron the Stig or what? And i hope they dont get the wrong tires....

The problem I have with the Ferrari is that as a design it does not move the game on. If this was a concept produced by an automotive design student I suspect the reaction from even the biggest Ferrari fans would be luke warm. This design could have come from ten years ago.
The McLaren on the other hand seems not to have any historical reference to anything apart from a few design clues from the F1. It’s fresh and so so different. And I know this sounds odd but it just looks plain clever in its execution.
From what we now know the Ferrari seems to have the Mac beat purely based on the numbers. But I suspect this could be overturned once lap times become evident. What do I base this assumption on you may well ask? Well what it all comes down to is one figure in the McLaren press pack, and that is that the P1 will be able to generate 2G in the corners on street tyres. That is an amazing figure for a street car. And as we all know its speed in the corners that ultimately leads to great lap times.
If Ferrari can match this I will be very impressed. I can’t wait to see independently verified lap times in the near future

Rockstar its not often I agree with you but on this occasion I do.
