I'm not a Ferrari fan boy. I'm quite the whore, could hardly say I swear loyalty to any moniker...been around the block except with a Bugatti, Maserati, Koeniggsegg and Pagani; I keep looking for the next thing that'll keep me interested. I have never owned anything more than a year, yet after 2 years now, my Scuderia still puts a big fat smile on my face every time I jump in and I can tell you a Porsche could never give me the sensation, raw passion and visceral exchange my Scuderia throws at me, at even 50mph. I won't say it's a better car, but hands down the more exciting one.

You have a 430 spider, whoopdeedoo suddenly Ferrari is overrated.

I drove a Panamera, so Porsche is overrated. lol.

And don't be flaming me ppl, I have a 991 GT3 on order, eta Apr '14 and had a 997 GT3 so I still love me some German.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion right? Well my opinion is you just wrote off an entire moniker by 1 singular experience in a putt putt 430. How's that not laughable?

And our personal and very different opinions aside, Chris Harris absolutely loved driving his 599 and now he's onto the next thing that will keep him interested. That's the way to go, balls deep into an epic Ferrari V12, hit it, lick it and split. Did he have any regrets? Absolutely none, just a fcuking awesome memory / dream fulfilled.

Carry on then, happy motoring.

Yes, Porsche's v6 engines have everything to do with nothing in this convo. Idiots running rampant on here.

I hate to see you guys arguing here. If I may, the f430 spider is a nice car but it doesn't even begin to compare to either the 599 or the 458. Ferrari keeps pushing the edge of the proverbial envelope in terms of looks and performance

I hate to sound like a Teamspeed newb, but how does an Internet journalist afford these cars?

I've always wondered that too, but he is at the top of the game when it comes to automotive journalism. Being the best at anything pays tons, whatever it may be.

He can't.

Harris specifically said he couldn't afford to make the payments on the GT3 4.0. His reasons for dumping the 599 are the same, can't afford $500 a month in depreciation. UK is an insanely expensive country to own gas guzzlers in. Guy was probably eating canned food and guessing by his attire wearing donated clothes to afford those cars.

More like 1,500 US a month with the conversion but still that actually seems more then reasonable to me. That's just a bit more then the lease on a M6.

I admit I have no idea what the VAT tax on acquiring a used car in the UK is. I can tel you if I did not have to pay darn near 10% in taxes every time I buy even a used/new car out here in California I would gladly pay the 1,500 or so a month in dep for a 599.
