Hi all

So just noticed it this morning - seems to have happened over the weekend at some point and it is extremely annoying and beyond me why some prick (excuse my language) would do something like this. I guess its inevitable sometimes and you can only take SO many precautions on how or where you park your car.

It is quite feint but it is there and does show a little - extends from above the rear wheel past the door handle and to the middle of the car door. Took a snap of a portion of it with my bb this morning.

Will be taking it to the dealers this week and hope the bodyshop can fix this. From any of you who have had unfortunate experiences like this, would you think it is fixable? Wondering (and dreading to know) how much Ferrari paint costs!

 

Is it through the clearcoat and into the paint? Hard to tell exactly from that pic. If it's not deep enough, it can easily get buffed out.

 

^^ Not sure exactly. Its not deep at all which hopefully will be in my favour. Will just have to see what the dealer says. Tried to use some elbow grease with wax and polish and it improved a LOT but this is what remained after my hard work. It is just sad that there are a lot of scum out there that enjoy doing this stuff.

 

Sucks to hear, hopefully it's not too deep and can be buffed out.

I am usually picky where and when I go out in such hefty cars.

I am too. Always careful where I park and if I'm going out somewhere a bit casual and no proper parking I usually use my X5. Unfort. this can happen anywhere - In fact this mark was not there yesterday (Saturday) morning as I usually look around the cars every morning. Spotted it this morning so it must have happened yesterday. Yesterday the only places I went to were to the Ritz Hotel, the Intercontinental Hotel and Gulf Hotel - all 5-star hotels with great parking facilities and so this must have occurred at one of those places. Maybe someone parked next to me decided he wanted to leave me a present before getting into his car. Strange how it isn't very deep nor does it extend from the rear of the car to the nose of the car but stops half way into the car door.

Hope you guys are right and that it will likely buff out without too much difficulty once taken to a specialist.

 

It's an easy fix doesn't look too deep, best thing is to have full insurance. When I go out in expensive cars usually I park them at underground parking where there are camera's and a security guard.
