Rumors on F-Chat suggest this car will be unveiled at Pebble Beach with the GTO engine and similar performance!!! Somewhere between 70-100 rag-tops will be built.

 

Pebble Beach events are going, but not even a single leak about 599 convertible. There were some events for owners, some of them already have seen the car, but nothing leaked from them.

From what I have to understand, there will be no pics from that private unveiling during Concorso. No cameras were allowed and the rumor is that the car will not be unveiled to public at all, only private appointments and deliveries. From sure tech specs leaked are - specific front design, GTO engine and transmission, weight is the same as GTB, roof is tricky, deliveries to start early 2011. That is all unfortunately.

 

Are you positive about the GTO engine and tranny? I understand that it is a limited run of a 100, but still. From what I have heard, from people that have seen it in person, it will be the same engine and tranny as is in a GTB.

 

I have no leaks from trusted sources, absolutely no leaks. Everything else is from mouth-to mouth type of information. I was told that car has GTO engine and tranny, not sure that its really so, but that is what I was told. GTO engine seems logical, in case of using "just" GTB engine, it would be hard to justify enormous price tag and to match an exclusivity level.
