PORSCHE CARRERA
PAINT CORRECTION AND CLEAR BRA REMOVAL

One of my good clients recently picked up this car. Immediately, he knew I would need to get over there and correct the paint! This client is rather picky, so I could tell from his tone that it wasn’t going to be pretty!

Upon arrival, I immediately though to myself, WOW, how can someone drive this around? It’s a nice car with a nice color but that was hindered by all the swirls, faded clear film, scratches, light oxidation, etc. After talking things over in person, we elected to remove the hammered clear bra as there was no restoring it via polishing and compounding. (It doesn’t correct like paint). Once removed, the paint still needed some work.

So then I started to remove it. Luckily he had been out and about driving it so it was in the sun all day already. This makes removing the film easier as the adhesive softens and comes off with the film...or so I thought!

Adhesive left behind. Talked to a film company and he said too much promoter was used and this is the typical result from that. Ended up taking some 3m adhesive remove to get most of it off, and tehn I just compounded the rest off. It was taking way to look to remove all the adhesive alone and it wasn’t getting all of it anyway.

This is the difference in what the film removed left behind (better looking paint)

All the while the film did its job, the car wasnt not polished properly before the installation. This is something Ill never understand…

Before with the film / after without the film (no polishing done)

Damage to the paint – this is how the whole car looked.
