I think we all agree Joe - problem is, I can fit more people in the Aplina and AMG for less money, while keeping my 997 Turbo S for torque blasts.

I see absolutely no reason to buy this Turbo S. I think the "standard" Panny Turbo suffices.

The 997 Turbo S - to me, made financial sense when I was ordering my car. This, I dont get it - Ok PCCB's and 50hp - but nothing "special" - Its like they are saying - here's a reprogram - give us $40K.

Anything in the interior? Leather and Suede seats, CF everywhere? Special paint, wood anything?

Sad - well, Porsche can't win them all I guess.
The idea is actually the same as the 911 Turbo S. They give you more horsepower, fit all of the performance options standard, do nothing to the exterior, offer two special interior combos, and then charge you a bargain price. BTW, PCCBs aren't standard on this car. We already all know that the 911 Turbo S is a bargain because it costs less than a similarly specced Turbo. I just specced a Panamera Turbo with the same spec as the Turbo S, and it was about 180k. That included the Powerkit Panamera Turbo (increases power by 40), which is a $21k option.

So if you are going to buy a Panamera Turbo with the powerkit, the S makes sense. If you aren't interested in the powerkit, just get the Turbo.

And is any one else getting annoyed that all of Porsche's recent press pictures are rendered? Why don't they hire a real photographer to go take some pictures instead of doing it on a computer. It would be SO much better that way.

I'm one of the biggest Porsche Fans around. But I'm not sure I can take it any more. Porsche is releasing a new car every week. Does the world need a $175K Panamera? Turbo S's are sitting on dealer lots everywhere. How many models does Porsche think the market can absorb? The dilution of the brand is getting ridiculous.

Oh young padawan - this is not the same idea as a 911 Turbo S. This is a panamera - they are not synonymous. Crap you can pull with a 911 is vastly different that what you can do with this "sedan".

I'll give you - its not a silly as the rapide - whatever that thing is from Aston. At least its a useable 4 seater.

But come on.

And you are telling me that pccb's are optional for $173thousand smackers? This is a joke. Come on - April fools?

Yup PCCB's aren't standard. It's not too big of a deal though as many wiould argue steel brakes are better.

I would just get an ECU tune on the standard turbo and fly pass that waste of money.

You mean iron brakes

The PCCB's are quite practical and work very well, but are very pricey up front.
