How to completely disable PSM

Don't know about the 996tt but the 997tt goes sideways

Brobbins016 / STOPPIE - So far my experience trying to get this car to drift has been totally unsuccessful - the PSM always engages no matter how aggressive or how mild the slide is intiated. I am a pretty decent drifter, and have been racing cars and bikes for a long time, and I am pretty comfortable sideways as evidenced in the video above and possibly more so in this footage of me tossing around a modified C63 in Sweden with Bernd Schneider (5X DTM champ) in the passenger seat next to me - VIDEO
Of course it could definitely be my driving, but with my AMG's there were simple menu sequences that would circumvent the ESP, and allow drifting a heavy sedan with ease. I am merely looking for the same experience and enjoyment in the Panny, and so far have been unable to make it work. Looking for help and advice.
Possibly one or both of you have some footage of yourself drifting your Panny that would make me see it first hand. Many thanks in anticipation.

I could toss my C63 out all day long, so I understand your feeling about the AMG's. My client had a Kleeman Stage 3 E55 and you could not keep that car out of a drift in the drive through at McDonalds.
I'll work on the footage although we are currently receiving the front end of a 6 inch snow storm and the only Panny I have in stock is a Turbo on 20's. Drifting would not being an option, sliding into anything in the way, more than likely.
BTW Stoppie and I are both bike enthusiasts as well. Make sure to check out the bike forum and WELCOME to TS!

Backwards if you try to hard enough. (Clears throat) Or so I have been told. I, ummmm, had a "friend"... Nevermind.

BRobbins - thanks for the clarification. I have searched hi and low on every possible forum for someone who is able to get their Panny sideways and hold it there, but I have come up empty handed.
As to the weight, it actually makes it way more predictable in a slide than a light car. Both my E's and CLS's were easy to drift and hold there.
Someone must have some experience, but from what I have read it appears that the more recent PSM (possibly only on the Panny) never completely gives up control. On the earlier PSM's (before the advent of the Panny) when in the OFF position, you could hang out the tail, and only if you touched the brakes would the ABS circuit reactivate the PSM circuit.
But on my 2010 Panny S the instant the tail goes out, PSM kicks in. It makes no difference whether the car is in SPORT or not. With PSM on it will not even let you hang it out even a degree.

Tried again last night and no luck - played with all the settings and just to add to further clarify the settings, my Panny S has the sport chrono package
So no continuous drifting is possible in any mode with the PSM set to OFF - (ie tried Mode in Normal, Sport and Sport Plus) but PSM still takes over the minute the tail hangs out (and this is with NO application of brakes at all to re-engage PSM via the ABS circuit)
Anyone with any ideas how to disable PSM? If not I guess I will be looking for something else to have fun with.

Put your name down for the F10 M5?
And in the mean time get the E60 M5, you can drift all day long with DSC off (just don't buy the stick version, DSC cannot be off), and between it and the Panny, I don't think you'll lose much in the looks department.

We are getting closer - over the past 3 years I have attended the AMG Winter sporting evets in Sweden where they fully disable the ESP on the full range of AMG vehicles to allow full dynamic control to the driver.
From the video below showcasing the various Panny's at Porsche's CAMP 4 in Finland, they also have some way of dsabling PSM - any ideas what they do? What modules / sensors they unplug? What ECU Codes they edit??
I really want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
