tracking an ordered car

Does anyone know if you can track an ordered Porsche? In the past, I tracked an ordered BMW through production, onto a ship and then, using GPS you could actually watch the ship cross over. It was silly but kind of fun. Would be interested in learning if a similar kind of process can be followed by a customer with Porsche.

I read something recently where this was possible but I'm not sure what the outcome was. The gentleman was told to check with Porsche cust. service, that they had the ability. IIRC, their systems were down when he tried.

If you find a way, let me know. I'd love to know where my baby is. I'm such a dork I have visions of it on the boat, snapping photos and writing postcards. Yeah, go ahead and commit me....

Yes you can,but only via the dealer network. Your Rep should tell you the 'Status' of the car. Once it reaches 'Chktpt8' it's complete and ready to go on the ship. Have him/her get you the ship name and there are various ship tracking systems online that you can track it.
