Post Report: Delays Mean First 200 Porsche Panamera Owners Will Get Free Lugggage Set

"So you've managed to be one of the first 200 people in the country to order a 2010 Porsche Panamera, it's arrived in port and all set for delivery...except it doesn't come. A few days later you get a letter in the mail. It's from Porsche, explaining why your car is being delayed.

This very scenario is playing, loosely, about 200 times over as Porsche's first batch of U.S.-bound Panameras wait in port for repairs to the car's key and software systems. Exactly what the problems are isn't yet clear, but the letter to Porsche owners also includes an offer the company hopes will make up for the inconvenience. The offer? A free set of Porsche luggage, valued at $3,580. Not a bad offer. The first 72 cars have already been fixed according to the report, and are now at or on their way to dealerships. The remainder continue to sit in one of four major U.S. ports.

Don't expect this gravy train to last forever, though, as Porsche will be instituting the fix at the factory for future Panameras."

Nice! Although it sucks to have your brand new panamera at a port instead of in your garage at least they are doing right by their customers and giving them a very nice luggage set for free (most companies would be just be like oh well, keep waiting it'll get here soon).

That's a pretty badass move by Porsche, in both fixing the known issue before delivery and a sweet set of suitcases for the family!

this is sweet but if you were hoping to beat the next guy and get your Panny first, the blow to your ego could cost more than a $3500 set of luggage

Sure

Yes. I am one of those 200 stuck in Baltimore since Oct 21.

I would rather have the car earlier than a set of 4 small carry on luggage worth......3600???
