guys we're getting conflicting stories ourselves. I've heard that they're having issues with the keys. I have not a clue what that issue is; the 7 we've delivered have had no such issue arise. (Turbo, S and 4S a few with the Porsche Entry and Drive)....

what irritates me is that PAG/PCNA refuse to be completely open and honest about the situation. I know it's hard to believe but the dealers, on many levels are the last to know.

Unacceptable imho.

rojda is an unknown quantity at this point
My car was not ordered with Porsche Entry & Drive just the regular key. It obviously doesn't take a month to replace just the key. Your theory about oil pan issues is more likely. The story about flying technicians in from San Diego also seems to indicate a larger problem.

I appreciate them wanting to get it right before handing over the car and I guess this is the price of buying a new release car. However, the long wait has me looking at the Rapide.

My oil pan was replaced already and I am having an airbag issue, I am still waiting for the airbag to come from Germany. Not sure what the key issue is, but I will be getting some luggage for sure.

Mine has entry and drive sometimes it says it doesn't recognize the key but it clears up after 1 or 2 tries.

$3500 worth of luggage for a $140,000 car being delayed for over a month? Because of a problem(s) so stupid they wont even fill there dealers in?

So that is the same as buying a car for $25,000 and getting a $675 suit case?

I would be pissed. Porsche needs to step up there game a little bit, People love talking smack about the U.S. auto markers yet they have never pulled a stunt like this.

Come on Shaz, thats not entirely fair. No, the Domestics would DELIVER over 150,000 cars and THEN tell you (after 3 years) there's an issue.

I applaude Porsche on wanting to make sure it's right. Just give us a little more credit for our intelligence and tell us something that makes sense is all I ask.

I thought they would've made a custom luggage set for the Panny, now they just throw 4 identical Samsonites together and voila...

I think that this is a fair compromise. It is way better than the domestics dude, they will install a leaky sunroof and not even take a look at it when it pours water in the rain.

I think it is good that they are holding the cars and fixing them. I would think that you would be much more pissed off if you got your car a month ago and it has been in and out of the shop everyweek. Most car companies would just tell you to wait for your car, although not the same thing as having your car now, at least they are doing something to say that they acknowledge that this is frustrating; it is better then them telling you to wait and no have anything.

I agree! Unfortunately car companies don't give a rat’s ass about their dealers. You think Porsche is bad. Try a Ferrari dealer. They think they are doing you a favor to provide info to their dealers. In fact on my MY 05' F430 there was a software problem early within 6 months of them shipping the first 430s. I got a letter in the mail from FNA and called my dealer. He had no idea of the issue. I had to show him the letter. He had to call FNA and get the details and wait 1 month to get the software update so he could update the car.

^^^ the sad thing is; only until recently, have their (Automakers) ways been exposed. When the economy was doing well; we'd balk and the Manufacteror wouldn't care at all; finally they're starting to be a little more proactive; but not by leaps and bounds.

I know some will say I'm biased; but Mercedes Benz is now the Exception, to that story. They are not only VERY proactive, they listen to what people want. And work tirelessly to fix it if it's wrong.

What's nice for me; is that my Dealer Principal is on the Board with MBUSA. They ask him all the time what Clients like or dislike. It's very refreshing. And Mercedes Benz Finance askes him for his opinion. Then again, he's here, at work- almost every single day. That's extremely rare by most dealer principals.

Most are so far out of touch, it's mind bogging they have a business that remains........in BUSINESS.
