Invoice price
#14
The reality of any transaction is not what invoice is, it is what the market demand is. I have sold 2008 Boxsters at a several thousand dollar loss, below invoice. Have a GT3 for MSRP. GT3 RS's are going for 23/30K above MSRP. The Panny is a pretty hot car for now. Invoice may be tough to get...

Who gives a s*t that the client knows what invoice is? What's wrong with answering the client with TRUTH?
It says nothing about the actual deal. He didn't ask "How much above invoice can I buy a Panamera for?"
No, he asked a simple question. And I gave him a simple answer. Clients deserve the truth. The type of clients we deal with they respect that and that EARNS business. You only need to be professional enough to understand that you offer the truth and let the client decide what's the best deal.
- Oh and hears a hint: The 'best deal'? Well clients of this level know it's NOT just about dollars and cents. It's about integrity. Expectations being met. And a RELATIONSHIP. Sure there is always a few clients who will ship the sh*t out of you. So what? Cry me a river. We're in sales Gawd Damn it. It comes with the territory.
Grow up or gtfo.

Its no wonder clients think you're lying. Because you can't even tell them the truth!

Wow. I will let that kind of classless discourse speak for itself.
The problem is this: everyone wants to buy at cost or below right now. I don't know where you're located, but if you haven't noticed this trend, I'd certainly be interested in hearing about what you are seeing. We are at the tail end of a buyer's market here and still faced with quite a bit of bottom fishing. When someone sits down and is ready to buy, I've never not shown a true invoice cost (even voluntarily).
I am well aware of what buyers expect having been on both sides of the transactions. If you want to question that you are welcome to PM me as I will not discuss it in public; I'd consider that to be tasteless (this isn't ***). Not only that but I have several friends who buy from our luxury stores. Enough on that.
Are you going to call everyone in other industries that does not voluntarily broadcast their cost dishonest?
Other than that, I don't think anything you've said merits much of a response as I find it to be quite arrogant, reactionary and very far from well thought out.
