The Panamera and the QP are two totally different animals. Personally, I don't see how they can even be mentioned in the same sentence, as they have two totally different design objectives. Not to mention the Panamera will never have the presence or elegance of a Quattroporte.
Some say the drive is more balanced than a QP, but there's no way I'll believe that until I drive it.
The interior is among the best I have ever seen. The pictures do not do it justice whatsoever. The exterior, however, looks the same to me as it does in pictures. Will it sell? Absolutely. Is it going to take a particular buyer? Absolutely.

I went to the Porsche launch event last week in Dubai. Sorry didn't manage to take any pics but I completely changed my opinion of the car when I saw it. Front end is absolutely beautiful, the rear is actually not bad, certainly much better than in pictures. Interior in the right colour combo is gorgeous, too many buttons, but it's different a kind of back to basics approach. The interior makes most other luxo barges seem bland in comparison.
I agree with Chris, I think they will sell well. My business partner's dad is on the list for a long test-drive. Hopefully I'll get to snap some pics and drive it.

Yachting Blue with this interior is absolutely gorgeous in person. As for presence, it'll crush a QP in that arena. Looks, eh.... but presence? This thing is just short of a supercar. You guys will see - those of us that have seen it, sat in it, etc. are gushing. The guys who've driven it swear by it. Are we all crazy?

Your right. That blue and white interior in the Turbo is really nice!
Ric drove the turbo and said it was an absolute blast. I cant wait to get behind the wheel.

Being careful not to offend, I have driven them back to back on track and it is clearly a better balanced and more defined car. Clearly the Maser is a vastly better looking car. The Pana is a better driving car, period. You will have to get to drive one, then drink the Kool Aid.

Chris, I certainly respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. The Panamera's presence to me is nowhere near that of a supercar. The only thing "supercar" on the Panamera is the CGT themed center console. It's beautiful in the front esp when the air suspension drops. The rear I am still not sold on, and I'm not sure I will be.. But once you get inside it's the best interior of anything against which it may compete.
I have seen a Panamera sitting next to QPs all week. Our Ocean Blue QP w/ Avorio interior sat next to the Panamera Turbo (Yachting Blue) we have for a day. We got two more in today. There's no comparison as to which has more presence in my mind, and as I've said that's the Quattroporte. But to each their own! It's not a bash at all, they are different to me and I think the the Panamera will be perfect for what they built it for.
