Of course! Reasonable minds can disagree. I overreacted.

A lot of folks have an ax to grind against Rick. Probably some very legitimate. But a lot of folks just go off of rumors.

He has always been good to me though. Like you said, just different strokes.

Didn't mean to come off pissy brother.

Good for you!!

Dana,

Do you have the subwoofer or complete system? If complete, can you tell me about the speakers mounted in the factory mounts? Did you take your cars to him or have him come out?

Christian, I'll give those guys a shout on Monday, thanks for the tip, I'll have to come up with some more topic for conversation, this was entertaining, maybe something "The JC" can add to ;-)

I have had all complete systems.

About 18 months ago, Rick changed the speaker dimensions so that they sit flush in the factory mounts. Prior to that, things had to be slightly modified.

I had all of my work done at his shop.

My cars were his display vehicles at the LA Auto Show several times.

The only way to really decide is to go and check them out.

Certainly Reus is not perfect and not for everyone.

It is more of a mature sounding system. You won't get much out of it if you want to bump the bass or play death metal on it.

I enjoy quality audio, not volume.
I kept things in perspective considering my vehicle's connection with the road.
A layer of sound deadening material provided a bit of isolation from the road noise, but not the connection.
MB Quarts replaced factory Infinity front and back.
Alpine replaced Infinity amp & head unit.
Infinity Basslink 200 watt powered dual 10" subwoofer provides all the bass I'd ever want.
My music preferences range from Classic Rock and roll to Americana to Jazz.
Your milage may vary depending on your preferences, what I've put into mine brings a smile to my ears.
Good luck in your quest.

I've got focals in my car, and while they are great, the component sets do not make much bass. The 4x75w alpine amp probably doesn't help that, simply not enough wattage if you're running 4 speakers from it. More wattage up front and sub(s) out back will probably give you a more balanced setup. Most people seem to run far too little wattage to their front speakers (mids and highs) and the speakers really don't perform well once a properly powered sub is thrown into the mix.

If you like the way the focals sound, why not go with a focal sub and their amps to complement the setup? You'll want to make sure you get a box that will do what you want, and that may mean having it custom made. Going to a high end shop and auditioning the speakers/subs is the best way to decide IMO.
