^ Have you looked into buying a used manual transmission off a wrecked car, and doing a transmission swap?

 

I just read from post one to this.

First and foremost, excellent post and amazing story. I am not gonna elaborate what others said already.

Secondly, I say fck the auto tranny and get yourself a manual. It has been 66,000 miles, from what i see, and is time to make a good change plus a new driving experience.

I honestly think a manual Cayman is far more fun than an auto.

I'm of no use to you, but glad to hear an update. Bad clutch packs sounds like pretty good odds in my opinion. This seems more likely given that we now all know how you drive that car

 

Unfortunately, we can't get internal components aside from the differential and valve body, and I'm unsure Vertex will even be able to supply a clutch pack but it's worth a try. Thank you for the update and keep us posted.

Car will now officially be getting a full manual transmission swap!

 

That should add to the fun for you!
