If you are serious about making a track weapon, your best option will be with a 2009+ Cayman. They fixed the power steering and oiling issues that plague the 2006-08 cars that see track use.

O.K....I am ready to put down some green. After weeks of research, the Cayman S is my choice for my play car. Play in this sense for me means weekends and track days...heavy on the track days. The question is, which options do I want to make sure and include. I think PASM is a yes, but what about the ceramic brakes? An expensive option, but is the juice worth the squeeze? My plan is to buy a low miles 2006 and save the $ for aftermarket ad ons like exhaust etc, but I want to start with the right platform to maximize my efforts downstream. Sport Chrono? It looks like the 18 vs 19 wheels jury is still out reading the other threads, but I would welcome opinions based on track experience with this option as well. Thanks for your input and looking forward to diving in.

thanks

I´m going for a very low spec Cayman S, just want Diff break then the rest just need to be in order. good advice anout the steering at the first models, fixed after 2009, but the price almost double from 07-09, think i will sell my 944 track car and se what happens with the price over the winther on the 09.
If they dont come down much i will also go for a 2006/07.
