If you want pure driving fun, nothing beats a Cayman or a Boxster, preferrably with the big engine and PASM...

If you're a first time Porsche owner, you're not necessarily burdened with the Porsche legacy, so you can safely go for a Cayman without feeling that you're missing out on air cooled engines placed behind the rear axle and other stuff that's important to the purists!

As for maintenance... Porsche builds the cars to be driven. Unless you go for the extreme models, the modern Porsches are not more expensive than the average family car to maintain.

One thing that is more expesive is tires. The more extreme tires used on Porsches wear out twice fast and are more expensive to replace than on a "normal" car...

LOL, I wish. I actually drove one a few weeks ago with a full GMG exhaust.... the thing was scary loud and felt awesome to drive. I just don't think I could daily drive it.



I really appreciate all the feedback from everybody, I forgot how awesome this forum was. I will definitely be coming back more often to post. I'm going to take a few weeks and figure out what I want to do, I live right next to a Porsche dealer on Pacific Coast Highway so I'll have to stop by and see what they have for me to touch.
