986 Boxster S or Z4 as first car?

Luckily that isn't the case.

Dont get me wrong, fresh out of school, if you've got the cash to pay for repairs, fuel, insurance, etc...by all means, buy the Porsche. Just make sure to take everything into account and dont let a bunch of cyber bullies shame you into it.

If not, you can get the same performance out of a less expensive to maintain sports car.

If we were tlaking about a track car, that would matter. But its a DD he's asking about.
#36
He was specifically stating it was not to be a DD, but a weekend car, occasionally used on the track...

Many young owners get so caught up in the allure of the car that they don't take into account the maintenance and servicing cost. A 2004 Boxster S, even one meticulously maintained will eventually need major servicing, probably sooner than later and it will be a big bill. There is a reason why younger people drive cars like Mustangs or Evo's, STi's, etc. It is a good bang for the buck performance wise and they won't have to eek out every little cent to pay for maintenance and repairs.

Hey Kelderek, you're right. Thanks for the correction. I totally overlooked that when I ready the first 4 times....lol
Disredgard everything I said and get the Porsche cause if it breaks down, you won't be stranded.
And thanks BlueBllaze, that's all I was getting at.

Thats a pretty broad statement. The 5.0 has 420 horse power stock and the new GT500 has 650 horse power at peak performance.
What's your definition of a sports car?
(btw...I had the X5. Maintenance ate me alive once warranty was out)
