Anyone Order the New Boxster??!
#11

I ordered one.
I went for the S, I really like the larger engine, I drive a 987 S now. The Boxster chassies is so good, it really deserves a great engine!
Ordered in Jan, build in late April, delivery in early May.
I suppose the arrival to the US is slightly later, so I have no idea what your delivery times are over there...

She isnt really LOL.....but she likes that i like it. I am actually plotting on a nice C300 4Matic Mercedes for her --- and the Boxster will be "ours"

Do it Jon!
Black w/red interior and black wheels happen to be my favorite color combo from the configurator, great taste! Don't forget the red top and PSE though!
Are you planning on getting the manual gearbox or PDK?
My uncle will be traveling to Geneva next week to find out some more about the Boxster S, before deciding whether to order one or not. Hmm I wonder where all the reviews of the 981 and real life photos are? Figured they'd be out by now. Oh well, it's probably close!

The extra money for the S will give you some extra stuff in addition to the engine: Alarm system, xenon lights, leather on armrests and centre console... plus that some otions will get more expensive on the base model, such as 20" wheels.

The Sport Design Steering Wheel includes paddles if you also order PDK. The silly buttons come with the standard wheel.
Sport Design Steering wheel is actually twice as expensive if you order it in conjunction with PDK, that's because of the paddles... With manual transmission, you just get (and pay for) the wheel itself!

I like the new Boxster a lot. Considering how little opportunity there is to drive to its potential, I think a base one is plenty for non-track driving. I had a base Cayman before and it was really fun driving the nuts off it without going too fast. If I tried that in my 911, I'd still be in prison.
That said, don't do it at the expense of your Cayman R. Cayman R > any Boxster/Cayman.

Chris From Cali, where have you been!? Yup, new Boxster is great. Here are some fresh pictures showing it in the wild.

And apparantly in that last shot the 991s in the back are a few Carrera 4s, and a Turbo all completely undisguised.

And some more (admittedly the yellow one looks chunks and ugly).
