Talking buying porsche boxster 986 2.7

Hello,

maybe I going to buy a 2000 porsche boxster 2.7. So i have few questions for you guys.

Does this model have any issues?
This car is 2000 2.7 model, but with old 4 spokes steering wheel and orange lights. Is this ok? I found some 2.7 models y:2000 with white lights and new 3 spokes steering wheel.

Thank's for your answers,

Majki

The boxster lacks some serious power. IMO, it's an old setup that isn't really worth it performance wise. Reliability is fairly good but repairs will still be costly. You are better off buying a M3 E46. If you get a 986, I'd at least get a Boxster S. IMO, the 987S is a much improved car but of course, price is higher.

Cayman_Sense is an unknown quantity at this point
Fun car if you are thinking about getting into track days. There is a lot of support for these cars, as they serve as the platform for Boxster Spec racing.

i have now bmw e46 325 cabrio with 192 hp and it is enough for me. I am driving normaly in sunday 70km to college, and back home in thursday. And a little bit driving in friday and saturday. Now i have a option to change my car for this boxster 1:1. I think normal service is not more expensive for porsche(oil, filters..), also brakes and bumpers arn't.
My bmw has 180000km, but boxster 66000km. I make 12000km per year.

You will not win any drag races, but it is a fun car to drive. The Boxster offers a roadster with two storage areas (trucks, boots), good fuel economy and just an over all strong value for the money.

Good luck with your purchase.
