wow.. that is absolutely phenomenal. the front looks very good ( a little biased.) but the back is absolutely on the next level. I don't think porsche do anything which is as good looking. i am completely speechless, I have never liked any modded car before this. looks so clean. the cayman is my favourite porsche, but 300 or so horses don't do it for me anymore. the ruf ctr would be nice.. but in a price range that I have yet to experience. Anyway... 1

TPC has adapted and installed the 'new tuning system' on my 3.8 now and will be fine tuning it on the dyno this week. Once Mike tells me he's happy and its 'done' I'll post numbers and dyno sheets.
I don't want to jump the gun with data so I won't post early numbers but I believe it will be VERY nice indeed... Heh!There are already quite a few cars out there running their earlier tuning system and I've heard nothing but good about it. The 'new tuning system' is a logical and substantial technical refinement that has taken TPC quite awhile to develop and I expect that it will be more than worth the upgrade.
- The earlier system left the ECU and factory fuel system alone and instead used a piggy back controller and 2 additional fuel injectors in the intake plenum. A perfectly valid approach and one that delivered very good performance and driveability.
- The 'new' tuning system involves upgrading the 6 OEM fuel injectors to higher flow ones and flashing the ECU with TPC's new programming. No piggy back controller, no additional fuel injectors in the intake plenum BUT from the way TPC has explained it to me they've not only developed a new ECU flash they've also implemented a much more granular method of handling the tables that allows them to be much more precise with timing, boost and A/F ratios that will yield not only more power/torque but also further improves 'driveability'... Supposed to be as if you had bought a factory 'Cayman Turbo"...
Several other folks will have the new system on their 3.4's here very soon so there won't be any shortage of people to hit up for driving impressions and maybe even a ride if you're local to one! Casey can probably point you to a few if you PM him.

We would all like to be able to check a box on an order form and get a 'factory' GT3 or TT version of the Cayman, and maybe someday we'll be able to if Porsche finally see's the writing on the wall, BUT don't write off the Cayman right now just for HP reasons... For what you would pay for a 997 TT you could get an 08 or 09 Cayman, upgrade the brakes, suspension AND put on TPC's turbo kit and end up with a car that will SMOKE a factory TT on the road and a GT3 on the track. I think TPC's Cayman turbo kit on an 08 Cayman 3.4 with the new tuning system will be putting out around 450-460hp at the wheels... With 15% driveline loss thats around 530-540hp at the crank... YES you are assuming some risk by modifying your factory car but to me it was worth it! (I have a 3.8 so imagine adding almost another half liter of displacement to those figures...)

Hey, hold the 'sir' stuff... LOL! I'm not THAT old nor that wealthy!
As much fun as it would be I doubt I'll track this car much. Maybe if I had as much money as Jay Leno! Heh! Its such a special 'one of a kind' car I'd be heartbroken if I banged it up considering how much time, money and effort I've invested in creating it. Once its 'done' and I get it back to Houston I'll definitely drive it 'enthusiastically' though and will be getting it out and about so folks can see it as well as getting it to as many car shows as I can.
I'm actually seriously leaning towards trading in my ISF daily driver and building another Cayman; Stock body other than a similar new front/rear bumper but with upgraded suspension, brakes and with TPC's latest turbo setup. Now THAT I'd be ok with tracking as often as I could swing it!

Heh!
