Too bad it will feel too slow next to your TT.
Thanks Tim. It sees track for the first time in 2 weeks.
I figure if it's too slow for my taste I'll either eventually 1) add some power with a TC or SC, or 2) Use the Orange car on the track and keep the 986 for fun in the sun and AutoX. I've been driving the 986 for about a week just for kicks and it is just so much fun (albeit slow by comparison).

I had some Coochas logos made into decals and put them on today.
The car ran very well this DE season at NHMS, Watkins Glen and Mont Tremblant. It is a fantastic handling car in its current Boxster Spec BSX (street legal) format and I give a lot of new models a run for their money!

This winter the car is going to complete its journey to dedicated track car status. To make the car a full BSR SPBOX racer it will get a cage, strip, integrated data/video system and most importantly drop about 300 pounds to a target of 2450. I'm really excited!

My BSR Build started

I dropped off my car this weekend at Conway Autoworks in Hanover MA to begin the transition from BSX to BSR spec.

Basically the car will get a full cage, loose 300 pounds, add GT3 control arms to all 4 corners so I can run 255 tires x4, clutch and LWFW, and a Smartycam and data logger. I'm going to also have the RMS fixed (small leak).

I'm very excited. Hopefully will post some pics over the course of the winter.

300 pounds on top of all the other stuff?! Holy sh*t that car will be a monster on the track when you are done!

Congrats. Looking foward to seeing pics of the build. I personally prefer the facelifted boxster but your is still great.

Gutting, Cooling and Fiberglass top

I stopped by my builder today (conwayautoworks.com). Most of the weight loss has been accomplished at this point. Probably 200+ pounds,...at least!

The GT3 control arms are now at all 4 corners which will allow me to run 17x8.5 with 255 rubber all around. This is now acceptable in Spec Boxster racing. We're waiting for some stiffer springs to arrive.

The larger S oil cooler has been installed and the 3rd radiator is almost done. I'm still on the fence about whether or not to put in an Accusump.

The fiberglass roof (9 pounds) arrived today which will allow my builder to start fabricating the cage soon.

I'm more and more excited every day!

Sorry pics are blurry - I left my camera in Scuba mode by mistake (last pic is from last week in Grand Cayman)
